All,

There are two ebay'ers that are selling the 9 1/2" WW statue based on the fabulous Vol 2 No. 72 cover by Brian Bolland. This is the original, not the miniature version that I see from time to time. Here's the link to one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Wonder-Woman-statue ... dZViewItem

While I understand it is ultimately me that must decide if the price is worth it, I'm looking for advice. How often do you all see this larger version for sale? The lower of the two ebay prices goes for $299.00. Is this consistent or is this guy smoking dope? I've never been to a ComicCon, so I don't know if they sell them regularly there or what the usual price would be.

Thanks ahead of time for any advice. And no hard feelings if anyone grabs it instead of me.

Well, I don't know how much the statue is worth. I know that it is hard to find, but I don't know how much it pops up on eBay.

I don't think I would spend that kind of money for it. But my reasons may be different than for you. 1.) I'm happy with the mini statue. 2.) I really have no place to put it at this time. And, most important, 3.) I'm a student on a limited income, and therefore seriously cannot afford that price.

So, if you really want it, and have the money for it now and can afford to/are willing to part with it (without missing any bills), then go for it. (After checking the seller's feedback, of course.)

Good luck!

Tricia

On ExperienceTheWonder.com, I provide current auction estimates for every item, and value the Full-Size Brian Bolland Statue statue at $300.

This is most definitely a realistic price for this piece and they are always bought quickly so the market is there at this pricepoint.

As Tricia suggested, check the seller feedback and be sure it is, in fact, the large version, all the packaging and certificate of authenticity are included most importantly, that there are no cracks around the ankles - which are the weak points on this piece.

If either of these listings meet these criteria, then $300 is a fair market price for this statue today.

I have enjoyed the miniature version for some time, and just last year, finally added the full-size version to my collection. It is absolutely breathtaking!

Here are comparison shots from ExperienceTheWonder.com which help to show the different levels of detail:

I hope this helps!

Thanks for the advice. I decided to pass on this one. It was the first time I've seen int on ebay, so I had nothing to compare it to. That always makes me cautious.

If it comes up again, I'll probably take it. It really looks good.

Thanks again

My pleasure, Chris! It is an investment, but if it comes up again - grab it fast! You won't be sorry...

UPDATE

Well another statue came up for auction. Actually, 3 more came up. I really didn't expect to win because the auction came due during work, but I did. The price was over $100 cheaper than the first one I commented on, so I think I did reasonably well.

I also got the WW statue from 1995 where she is bursting through a cloud. I got that one for under the asking price.

So all in all, I'm doing pretty good.

Congratulations on the DC Direct Bolland Statue and the Graphitti Designs Joe Devito Statue! They are both stunning and will be wonderful additions to your collection! Here is a close-up of my Joe DeVito statue to tide you over until yours comes:

I love this statue above, I own this too and for the longest time I thought it was from DC Direct(I won the statue MIP from Ebay) I just found out this year that this is NOT DC Direct's 1st Wonder Woman statue and I thought all this time it was! I felt like an a$$

I think a lot of people think that! But since this statue is from 1995, and DC Direct was not formed until 1998 (with the first products being released in 1999) it's great there was such a beautiful Wonder Woman statue even offered to collectors back then! We're definitely spoiled by DC Direct now - getting gorgeous statues fairly regularly!
