Bear with me - you have to know the backstory on this one...

Some time ago I purchased a pre-painted one-off 14" Wonder Woman sculpt from Brazil. Ever since I got it, I had been longing to repaint it since the pre-paint was extremely sloppy, but it was the only way I could get the piece.

After consulting with the sculptor and showing him my other custom painted statues, I asked him whether I should repaint this piece or leave it as it was. I don't remember the exact phrasing, but he very enthusiastically recommended I repaint it with "my treatment".

This has been at least a year ago and I finally started working on it a month ago. However, instead of a simple repaint I decided to completely resculpt the costume and other elements and transform this piece into the relaunched version of Wonder Woman in her new costume designed by Terry Dodson!

After significant reshaping of the original casting, I custom sculpted the new costume elements using Aves Apoxie Sculpt including the "stacked W" eagle breastplate, "W" utility belt with lasso snap, redesigning the boots with double-pointed tops, stripes and soles, reshaped bracelets, and the addition of seams throughout the bodysuit. Additionally, I completely resculpted the hair to have more flow and movement as Terry Dodson always draws it.

Painting included mixing comic-accurate custom colors and having a very steady hand for the precise application of the small details that make this piece a fitting tribute to Terry Dodson's original character design. All metallic accents were achieved from the application of Bare Metal Foil. 20-gauge gold wire was shaped to make the lasso.

I worked so hard to create such a unique piece for my private collection, that I wanted to share it with other Wonder Woman fans and statue collectors...

Thanks for looking!
